Testing

As part of a website project, we will test your site on PCs using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, which are the web standards.  If you want the site to be optimized for use older and/or Macintosh browsers, please let us know, and we will price that for you.

If it is of concern to you, we will also test and adapt the site for printing capability – this usually means the site will be developed at 640 pixels width and a color palette designed to print properly, but there are also options using special print media style sheets.

We generally develop sites using style sheet (CSS) technology, as much as possible.  Style sheets allow a great deal of graphic control while also making the site run as fast as possible (minimal image downloads).  Style sheets also allow quick site-wide graphic changes, which is useful in development and maintenance.

The disadvantage of style sheets is that html graphics do not display consistently on older browsers.  If you wish to avoid style sheets and use older graphic and styling technologies, please let us know.  As it is significantly more time consuming to take this approach, the cost will be affected.
