Ecommerce

We can implement any of a variety of ecommerce solutions for your site. Specifically, we look at whether to build custom applications or to use third-party services.  The important issues are security, service, features, and pricing. We work with a variety of service providers, including:

• 1Shopping Cart (aka, Professional Cart Solutions, Marketers Choice, etc.)
• Mal's Ecart
• PayPal/PayLoadz
• Authorize.net
• Verisign

In almost all smaller sites, we recommend third-party applications because of superior features at a fraction of the cost.  The costs associated with building, providing a secure socket and certificate, and servicing a custom shopping cart are rarely justified for under 2,500 transactions a month.

With regard to credit card processing, if you don't use PayPal, you will need a merchant card account with an internet gateway (e.g., authorize.net).  If you do not already have a provider, we can recommend one to you.
